Developing an integrated strategic plan, from vision, mission and values through to aims, objectives and action plans
Organisational Advocacy strategy
How does advocacy fit into your organisation and contribute to your corporate goals? What type of advocacy will you do and what won’t you do? How do you prioritise and choose advocacy issues? How is advocacy planned, organised and resourced? How do you ensure that everyone is following the same strategy? An organisational advocacy strategy can answer these questions.
There is more than one way to do advocacy, and there is not one way that is better than the others. Every advocacy issue is different, our organisations are different, and the contexts that we work in are different. Therefore every advocacy plan should be unique, designed to maximise the chances of success. We can support you through a systematic and participatory process that helps you to objectively analyse your issues, assets and context and come up the right plan for you.
What do you want to say and how do you want to say it? The answers to these questions will determine how you audiences (and others) will view your issues and your organisation. A clear communications plan, free of waffle and jargon, is the answer and we can help you develop it.
Our support will be tailored to your needs, and can include:
- Undertaking strategic reviews of your organisation or network
- Advising the senior manager leading the process
- Designing the planning process
- Facilitating participatory planning events and documenting their outputs
- Researching different strategic options
- Researching and mapping the political environment
- Writing up or editing the final plan
Campaign Management/Project Management
We can also manage and coordinate individual advocacy campaigns (including those of advocacy networks) on your behalf.
Whatever we do, we will work in a way to ensure that the ownership of the plan stays with your organisation or network.
